On september 24th 2019, in accordance with the requirements of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Education, organized the expert review meeting for the preliminary design of DURF project in Beijing.

Academician You Zheng, Vice President of Tsinghua University, and Gao Runsheng, the first level counsel of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Education, attended the review meeting and delivered speeches. Tsinghua University double appointed professor, Beijing Normal University Council Chairman, the project leader Cheng Jianping, the chief scientist of the project, Tsinghua University former vice president Kang Kejun, deputy general manager of Yalong River Hydropower Development Company Ltd., deputy commander of the project, Wu Shiyong, and secretary of the science committee of the project Ji Peiwen attended the meeting. The review meeting was chaired by Zou Hui, Director of the Fundamental Division of the Science and Technology Department, Ministry of Education.

Professor Li Jianmin, the chief technologist of DURF, reported on the preliminary design of the project and the on-site reconnaissance of the experts at the construction site in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province on September 21. The expert group composed of Academician Cai Ronggen and 17 other experts listened to the preliminary design report of the project construction unit Tsinghua University, reviewed the materials, and asked questions and made discussions according to the on-site reconnaissance. Finally, the review comments were formed. The experts fully affirmed the preliminary design of the project, put forward many constructive opinions, and approved the preliminary design, which marks a key step for DURF.

Academician Cai Ronggen expressed comments 

In the end, Cheng Jianping, the project leader, expressed his gratitude to the experts for their concern and support for the project. He said that he and his colleagues would take the suggestions and comments of the experts seriously, optimize the preliminary and future construction design plan, and submit the preliminary design report to the Development and Reform Commission after being improved.
